A side project of mine for quite some time now has been developing a game engine. There are no specific lofty goals at this time for this engine although if developments proceeds well and the end result is satisfactory, that may change.
The question I ask myself often is "How long does it take to develope a full featured game engine?". So far, the only answer I can come up with is "forever". It's no wonder indy engines available in the market seem to have a development plan with very general milestone dates or dates that constantly slip.
For me, many features that (on the surface) appear to be trivial to implement, end up taking days or weeks depending on how much time I can devote to it. I can easily end up spending hours on a very simple part of the code that is just not working as I expect it to. Typically, it's the "can't see the forest through the trees" syndrome that is at play and I end up kicking myself for not seeing the solution much sooner. However, it continues to happen and the hours and days and weeks go by with much less than anticipated progress.
But....progress is progress regardless of how long it takes. So I will keep plugging away as long as I can make time for it.

I am trying to get some energy here to keep my eyes open! a bit nervous to learn some of the new stuff but also excited!!
Okay, I'm just going to prattle on here a wee bit and will fill in the info once I get this figured out. Hopefully this will work this time and there will not be any problem with the new set up. Lets hope eh?
Here you can find all the tools you need to help us make the perfect game. If you have any questions or ideas, please feel free to ask one of the Leads or post up on the developer's private forums.
I hope that this works out well and we can start up a nice section for developers and their blogs. This will help draw in interest from the public and gaming communities.
So, as you can see, you can add images, fancy text or anything else. I will create a folder for each of you so images can be added or shared. This includes screens hots of what you are working on, sketches, etc.
